Restoration and conversion to visitor attraction
The work was completed in two phases. Phase 1 comprised the outer fabric repairs to the Grade II listed house. Phase 2 converted and extended the house to provide a museum facility for Celtic art and the construction of an interactive visitor centre for Celtic mythology.
In 2008 the building, now known as Y Plas, was acquired by Machynlleth Town Council and now features an art gallery, shop and café in addition to the town council offices and a 250-seat community hall.
